Our counselors work with a small caseload of students, creating customized plans and setting deadlines to ensure that students complete their applications and essays thoughtfully, effectively, early, and without mom and dad having to step in to take the reins.

PREPARATION
We offer comprehensive counseling services to students as early as 8th grade starting with our pre-high school advising services to help our students build their high school curriculum and discover interesting cocurricular activities and volunteer opportunities. During the early stages, we also begin to develop a standardized testing plan. All of these areas are continuously reviewed and monitored throughout the student’s high school career to ensure that the focus matches the needs of that particular student. Our goal is to assist with personal development, both academically, as well as cocurricularly, and ultimately balance and enhance each student’s application profile.

We help students and families through a very individualized college search process, administering various assessment tools and interactive programs to help build a completely personalized and detailed “best-fit” college list for each student. The process of systematically researching the colleges on this list, removing colleges and adding new colleges, all with the hands-on assistance of Edufection, will take place over most of the student’s junior year, ultimately resulting in a final list of colleges to which the student is excited to apply.

APPLICATION
We guide students through the college application process with the same comprehensive hands-on approach and level of support that we employ since day one. We take the pressure off the student (as well as the parents) by developing a very detailed timeline for each application, and we work closely with the student to ensure every deadline is met. Our fabulous essay coaches are available to make the essay writing process easy and stress-free. We provide one-on-one assistance and hand holding through the entire college application process, including meetings throughout the fall of senior year to work on, complete and submit all pieces of each application including essays, letters of recommendation, transcripts, test scores, supplements, and portfolios. We follow up on every single step of the application process so that no detail is overlooked. Our guidance and support will continue beyond the submission of each application until each student makes his or her final decision from among all of his or her options.
