Empowering Youth Climate Innovators: Wawanesa Climate Champions Youth Innovation Grant



In collaboration with Wawanesa Insurance, Canadian Colleges for a Resilient Recovery (C2R2) proudly presents the Wawanesa Climate Champions: Youth Innovation Grant. This initiative aims to recognize and fund five outstanding projects, providing $30,000 each to support the launch or enhancement of climate change or climate mitigation projects.


Youth Leaders Shaping Change

Open to participants aged 18-30, the Youth Innovation Grant offers a unique opportunity for young leaders to spearhead climate-related projects, driving tangible change within their communities or across the nation. With a focus on real-world impact, these projects will contribute to building a more resilient and sustainable future.


Expert Support for Your Journey

Embark on your journey with the assurance that you won't be alone. C2R2 partner institutions are ready to offer guidance, mentorship, and support throughout your project. All projects will run through local C2R2 partner institutions, ensuring a collaborative and impactful experience.


Be the Change, Make a Difference

Your project could be the key to unlocking a more sustainable, green future. Once awarded the funds, you'll have a full year to implement your solution effectively, contributing to the broader goal of creating a climate-resilient Canada.


How to Apply – Easy as 1-2-3


1. Read the Application Guide: Familiarize yourself with all details and requirements outlined in the Application Guide.


2. Express Your Interest: Email us using the 'Apply Now' button to connect with a C2R2 partner institution. Provide your name and institution details.


3. Complete the Application Form: Work with your C2R2 partner institution contact to fill out the application form, sharing your innovative ideas for a climate-resilient Canada.


Applications will be accepted from January 23, 2024, to March 15, 2024.

Winners Announcement on Earth Day

Mark your calendars for April 22, 2024 – Earth Day, when the winners of the Youth Innovation Grant will be announced.


Who is Eligible?

- Participants must be enrolled full-time or part-time in a post-secondary program or have graduated within the last two years.

- Participants must be considered youth, falling within the age range of 18-30.

- Approval from a designated C2R2 partner institution contact is required to apply.

Canadian Colleges for a Resilient Recovery encourages youth from diverse backgrounds, especially underrepresented groups, to apply. Note that participants do not need to be enrolled in an environmental/climate-related program, as all disciplines are recognized for their potential to contribute to climate action solutions.
