FREE emergency virtual-learning resources #foreverylearner | #Edufection

FREE access credentials to Britannica LaunchPacks Social Studies and Science

As schools implement and prepare for school closures to prevent the spread of COVID-19 in their communities, Britannica is ensuring free, emergency support and virtual-learning classroom resources to every school.

Over the past two months, we have been working with our partner schools across the world, as 107 countries have implemented nationwide closures, impacting over 861.7 million children and youth. (UNESCO)

While your school or district reviews preparedness plans, we invite you to take advantage of Britannica LaunchPacks Social Studies and LaunchPacks Science. These free resources are being leveraged by schools across the globe who are grappling with shutdowns and working to minimize the impact on students, families, and staff.

Full computer science curriculum and coding platform at no cost

During this time, Vidcode would like to support schools in any way they can. As such, they are offering their full coding platform and research-backed computer science curriculum for free to help schools and districts as they plan for potential school closures and student absences. If your school or district is planning a closure for health-related reasons, you can apply to get access to Vidcode’s full computer science curriculum and coding platform at no cost.

Vidcode will provide you and your students with access to our courses, lesson plans, and virtual PD resources until May 2020 (Vidcode states they will happily extend this offer until your school reopens). Students will be able to access courses from home as a supplement to your other e-learning measures and teachers will have full access to our LMS to monitor student progress.

Vidcode is also announcing their Virtual Coding Clubs for students (11 years old and up) who want to make amazing things with code. Clubs are drop-in and meet every Thursday at 3pm EST / 12pm PST. Clubs are lead by Vidcode coding experts! Students join virtually and learn JavaScript programming with a new project each week. All students who sign up for this club will have full Vidcode access until the end of the school-year.

Once registered you can invite your students to continue their learning (and parents too!).

Additionally, Vidcode will be running a series of virtual webinars:

  • Vidcode 101, every Wednesday at 4pm EST

  • Running a Remote Coding Club, Thursday March 26 at 1pm EST

  • Successful Remote CS Classrooms, Tuesday March 31 at 2:30pm EST

  • Full Webinar List

Test Grading Cloud available to all teachers for free

Remark Test Grading Cloud available to all teachers for free, including electronic bubble sheets for distributing and grading assessments.

In an effort to assist K-12 teachers during the COVID-19 crisis with the transition from onsite to remote education, Gravic, Inc. is offering instructors a free 60-day subscription to its popular Remark Test Grading Cloud application.

Remark Test Grading Cloud is a hosted application for grading tests, quizzes and assessments. The application is typically used to create and print bubble sheets, which can be scanned and graded with any image scanner. As many educators are now working remotely, the application can still be used to assist with your grading tasks using our Electronic Bubble Sheet technology.

Using electronic bubble sheets, you can create a customized answer sheet that can include multiple choice questions, math grids, or open response items such as short answers or essays. Test forms can either be created as traditional answer sheets or the instructor can include question text and answer areas on the same form. Remark Test Grading Cloud can be used to email your students the test answer sheet as a fillable PDF file. Students can put their answers right in the PDF file, and then email the sheet back to the cloud for processing. Teachers will see the multiple choice questions automatically graded, and can review and grade any open response items easily on screen.

Remark Test Grading Cloud includes powerful reports on student, class and item performance on the test, and is great for diagnostic and formative assessment tasks, as well as for regular assessment.

Gravic is offering all K-12 teachers with a valid email address from a K-12 school in the US or Canada the ability to use this tool for free through the end of May. Contact sales@gravic.com or call 1-800-858-0860 to get your free account. This offer is for individual instructors only. Schools looking for school accounts that would include a free connector to Canvas, D2L or Blackboard should contact Gravic as above.
