The United Nations Development Programme (UNDP) hereby invites you to submit a proposals to this Request for Proposal (RFP) for the Value Chain Strategies in Pakistan.
The Stabilisation and Development Programme (SDP) was launched in May 2015 to complement the efforts of the Government of Pakistan in enabling the safe and voluntary return of Temporarily Displaced Persons (TDPs) to their areas of origin, with a focus on relief, recovery and sustainable peace. SDP was initially designed to support the FATA Sustainable Return and Rehabilitation Strategy (SRRS). Following the merger into KP, the programme has realigned its priorities with the Tribal Decade Strategy (2020-2030) and supports the Government's policies aiming at development and growth of the Newly Merged Districts (NMDs) of KP. The funding of the programme was secured over the years with partnership with the United States Agency for International Development (USAID), Government of the United Kingdom Department for International Development (DFID), European Union (EU), the Government of Japan, Global Affairs Canada and the United Nations Central Emergency Response Funds (CERF). SDP is oriented around four main and reinforcing goals:
enhancing community resilience and social cohesion to support civil society participation;
increasing access to basic services through improved physical infrastructures;
promoting livelihoods and catalyzing economic recovery processes; and
removing barriers of access to education and creating an enabling environment to foster peacebuilding.
Objective
Carry out private sector development through developing strategies for the improvement of selected value chains/sectors in NMDs (North Waziristan, South Waziristan, and Khyber districts) of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa along with sustainable partnerships with the private sector.
The two main outputs of the value chain development activity are:
Develop strategies for 03 three value chains for improving sector/value chain competitiveness in NMDs and;
Develop & execute implementation plan for value chain development in (40) Forty Enterprises/Entrepreneurs in NM Ds:
Eligibility Criteria
The hiring consulting firm will follow an eligibility criterion for all interested SMEs, who wish to apply for different private sector development activities under this program. The proposed criteria is mentioned below: Any changes based on the actual situation will be presented and approved by UNDP:
The SME must be owned by Pakistani National(s), having Valid CNIC
Annual turnover of a minimum of PKR 20 million but not exceeding PKR 75 million PKR. Please provide proof of previous year's income by providing;
The business must have verifiable business address and landline contact number.
The employment should have a minimum of 15 staff and not exceed more than 200 staff inclusive of management, technical and non-technical staff.
Minimum two (2) year of business history.
Enterprise must be willing to pay /share cost of the requested services.
